We recommend flying into Edinburgh Airport (EDI) or taking a train to Edinburgh Waverly. For those staying in Penicuik, you can then either rent a car or take an Uber/Taxi to make the 25 minute journey outside Edinburgh.
For those traveling from abroad, would highly recommend arriving a few days before our wedding events begin to enjoy this stunning country and adjust from the jet lag. For those attending the Thursday rehearsal dinner (invite only), please arrive in Edinburgh by Thursday afternoon.
All timings for events are under The Weekend and will be on your invitations.
We've put together a whole page on this if you'd like more detail.
For those flying internationally, the best time to book flights is 6-12 months before you plan to fly.
If traveling from within the UK, train tickets can be booked roughly 4 months in advance.
Due to the limited options in Penicuik, we highly recommend booking your accommodation on the earlier side. Details on where to stay can be found here.
Yes, the UK has implemented a digital border which requires foreigners, including Americans, to apply for an electronic travel authorization (ETA). This does not apply to any of you who hold an Irish passport (Hi Mom!).

Despite being only 30 minutes from central Edinburgh, Penicuik is very much the countryside. The most flexible way to get around is via rental car, but Uber and taxis may are be available if you don't mind waiting. You shouldn't have any trouble getting an taxi/Uber from the airport or central Edinburgh to Penicuik, but the return direction may require advanced notice or a longer wait time.
We will let the local taxi companies know about our event in advance, but please let us know if you would like us to help you pre-book for a specific time.
Please enter via the main gates for Old Penicuik House. The gates will open automatically as a vehicle approaches. Drive all the way down the road until you reach the old ruin of Old Penicuik House. Then drive down the gravel track to the right and through the green gates (which will also open automatically).
If you are arriving via taxi/uber, instruct your driver to drop you in front of the house. If you are driving yourself, please follow the signage to park behind Penicuik House.
Do not park at the "Visitors Parking" as that is for people walking the estate and is still about a 10 minute walk from the venue.
Scottish weather is infamous for a reason, but luckily October is one of the milder and dryer months. We're hoping for clear days (say a prayer for us!), but also be prepared for some wet weather. Expect cool temperatures: highs are often between 53-60°F and lows between 41-45°F.
We're hoping for clear days that enable a combination of indoor and outdoor experiences across the weekend. All outdoor events will have heaters, but we recommend packing some layers.
We also have rain back ups for each part of the celebration, just in case.
Welcome Party: Smart Casual
Wedding: Black Tie
Farewell Breakfast: Relaxed Casual
More details on the dress code can be found here.
If you are actually Scottish, yes! If you are not, please wear a tuxedo.
Please RSVP by 1 June 2026. You can do so here.
Due to capacity, the number of guests is specified on your invitation. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
We understand that some of you might be traveling with your kids. We're happy to have them for the weekend, but a few specific events will be adults only.
Friday
✔ Welcome Party - kids welcome
Saturday
✗ Ceremony — adults only (on-site baby sitter provided*)
✗ Dinner, all guests — adults only (on-site baby sitter provided*)
✔ Dancing, all guests — kids welcome (but must be supervised due to the nearby pond)
Sunday

*For the ceremony and dinner on Saturday, we'll provide baby sitters and dinner for the kids. We'll get them set up for a fun afternoon/evening in the main house (just 5 minutes from where the action is happening)—there is even a cinema room where we can screen Disney's Scotland-set Brave.
Many of you are traveling across the globe to celebrate with us in Scotland. Your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for. If you'd still like to give us a gift, we'd be immensely grateful for contributions to our honeymoon fund or items on our registry
We love you all, but we love sleep too. For that reason, we've planned to wrap up the wedding day around 11pm.
House guests are welcome to continue socializing in the bar lounge on the ground floor of Penicuik House, but please be mindful of any guests that may be getting their beauty sleep and keep noise to a minimum.
