Travel & Stay
We can't wait to share our love of Scotland with all of you. Our wedding will take place on the beautiful Penicuik Estate in the small town of Penicuik (pronounced penny-cook) just 10 miles south of Edinburgh (pronounced eh-duhn-bruh).
Details on where to stay and how to get to our venue are below. If you're looking to extend your trip in Scotland, or the UK in general, we've put together some suggestions.
Getting to Scotland
We want your journey to Scotland to be as easy as possible, so we chose to host our wedding near Edinburgh—the biggest international travel hub in Scotland. Edinburgh Airport offers direct flights from Boston and New York and connections through London or Ireland for further US cities. Once you've arrived in Edinburgh, you can take a taxi/uber or rent a car to get to Penicuik.
By plane
Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is a dream to fly into—make sure to take a look at the window to see the city and the Firth of Forth as you land.
If you have credit card points or air miles and would like to use them to book, Ethan is happy to give advice on how to make your points go the extra mile.
By train
Train travel is one of the joys of living in the UK. There are direct services almost every hour from London to Edinburgh Waverly station. We'd reccommend LNER's direct Azuma service.
What does a Bostonian call a fast train?
Azuma!
Azuma is the LNER service from London to Edinburgh.

Where to stay
The town of Penicuik offers multiple options for places to stay if you'd like to enjoy a rural setting and be close to the venue (our recommendations are below). From Penicuik, it is a quick 5 minute taxi ride to get to and from the venue (we'll provide details for local taxi companies).
If you'd prefer more choice, everything that central Edinburgh has to offer is only a 25 minute drive from the venue.

Penicuik Estate (Our Venue)
Due to limited on-site capacity, we will let you know directly if we have an on-site room available for you.

For those staying on-site, you can find details of the accommodation here.

The Craigie Hotel
Located in Penicuik, this newly refurbished hotel was originally an Edwardian home dating to 1824. It boasts 16 elegant bedrooms, a first-class restaurant, stylish bar, and lovely grounds. It is just over a mile from Penicuik Estate (a 5 minute drive).

Airbnbs
There are a few Airbnbs in Penicuik, and many a short drive away in surrounding towns and in the southern neighborhoods of Edinburgh. We've compiled a list below to get you started.
Extending your visit
We know that Scotland is a long way from home for a lot of you—did we say thank you yet? If you're looking to make the most of your time in Scotland, here are some suggestions. London is also an easy train journey away for those craving something more urban.
